In 2011, Ryan Karazija decided to change his homeland in the USA for the severe weather of Iceland, and this decision deeply impacted his music and what his main project Low Roar set out to become. What started as a good folk/americana output soon became much more, with the never ending winter vibes of the northern island influencing each chord progression, and imbuing the music’s arrangements with the cold, clinical touch of electronic expressions. The formula reached its peak in the latest “Once in a Long, Long While…”, the latest record by Karazija, and prominent reason for his first solo concerts in Portugal, in February.
